Benjamin Bloom quote on p. 65

"Most high achievers were not that remarkable as children and didn't show clear talent before their training in earnest...only their continued motivation and commitment, along with their network of support, took them to the top".

Is it the continued motivation or the network that guides them to the top?

  1. I earned a 3.0 GPA in high school at Des Moines Roosevelt. I wasn't a strong academic.

  2. I am not sure what Brian's question means....is it a real question or just the ramblings of a childish mind? At any rate I would maintain that continued motivation and a passion for improving is the highway to excellence.

  3. I wonder if she cherry picks when claiming successful people were not high achievers. I have read about hundreds of people who were outstanding early in life and went onto success.

  4. Good point. Stories that fit the script make the final copy. Contradiction doesn't make for quite the same compelling story.
